A large office park planned for the west side of Indian River Boulevard, between Royal Palm Place and Miracle Mile, eventually may have as many as eight office buildings as well as a 305-space parking garage.Construction of the first phase of the parc24 office campus, that will include a 33,000-square-foot building, the parking garage and an attached 5,000-square-foot building, could begin by the end of May if the city’s Planning and Zoning Board approves the site plan at today’s meeting.
The larger of the buildings will serve as the new headquarters for the Vero Beach offices of Kimley-Horn and Associates, which is the owner and developer of the approximately 5-acre site, according to Keith Pelan, a senior associate with the firm.
The company, which has been on Fortune magazine’s Top 100 places to work list for the last three years, has 92 employees locally, he said.
Construction of the other two phases of the project will depend on tenant interest, said Pelan. He said the project will offer a quality of office space that the company doesn’t think currently exists in the market.
“Maybe we’re bullish on the market, but we have every confidence that good projects will continue to be in demand,” he said.
Pelan said the project is expected to cost more than $20 million and will help the city’s tax base. The project, however, faces opposition from members of the Vero Isles Association located east of Indian River Boulevard.
